Course Overview

This intensive two-day program bridges the gap between regulatory theory and real-world field operations. You won't just learn how to fly; you will learn how to map, calibrate, and execute precision application missions with maximum efficiency.

Day 1: Classroom Theory & Mission Planning

The foundation of safe and efficient aerial application.

• Nav Canada & Airspace Regulations: Navigate the complexities of Canadian airspace. Learn exactly how to read VFR charts, understand Nav Canada restricted airspace procedures, and review the requirements for Advanced RPAS operations.

• Equipment Mastery: Deep dive into the DJI Agras ecosystem, including the remote controller, SmartFarm application, and intelligent flight batteries, trailers & charging.

• Best Practices for Safety & Efficiency: Learn how to optimize your flight routes to reduce battery swaps, minimize downtime, and protect your equipment through proper preventative maintenance.

• Mapping Fundamentals: Introduction to the DJI Mavic 3M (Multispectral). Learn how to capture high-resolution field data and process it for variable rate application and precise route planning.

Day 2: In-Field Operations & Calibration (Lunch Provided)

Step out of the classroom and get hands-on experience with the hardware.

• Real-World Mapping: Deploy the Mavic 3M in the field to create precise field boundaries, mark obstacles (like power lines and guy wires), and generate an actionable flight route.

• Swath & Payload Calibration: Hands-on drone swath calibration. Learn how to accurately adjust pump pressure, droplet size, and spread width to ensure perfect coverage and eliminate chemical drift.

• Live Flight Operations: Take the controls of a DJI Agras spray drone. Practice automated spraying missions, active obstacle avoidance, terrain following, and manual emergency overrides.

• Field Workflow: Master the ground-station workflow, including safe chemical handling simulations, closed-transfer procedures, and rapid battery/tank swaps to maximize your acreage per hour.
